Lenten Study 2019
Unlocking the Beatitudes
Lent begins on Wednesday 6th March, where we receive the sign of the cross on our forehead made from the ash of last years Palm Crosses. This serves as a symbol of our commitment to observing a Holy Lent, as we prepare to enter into the mysteries of Holy Week as we head towards Easter.
During the season of Lent, it is the normal practice of Christians to spend this time in Prayer and Study as we seek to understand our faith more deeply.
This year as a Benefice we are focusing on The Beatitudes, which Christ taught as part of the sermon on the mount and as with previous years there are 5 different sessions running each week.
The details of the times and places are as follows:
All sessions begin week commencing Sunday 10th March
Sunday – 1.15 p.m. at St James, Calderbrook
Wednesday – 10.00 a.m. at St Barnabas, Shore
Please remember that the same session is run at each of the locations during that week, so if you missed your normal one, then please feel free to join one of the other group, and we look forward to spending time with you all.
